Read MoreMy mom and Chris have shown me continuous support, no matter what the endeavor might be. From countless cheerleading competitions, to school events (both high school and college), fundraisers, dinners and more … you can always count on seeing their faces in the audience ; not just for me but for each of their 5 children. There is truly never a dull moment
Read MoreThis week’s business shout out goes to Post Woodworking and the couple behind the company, Dan and Lisa Post! In 2002, we met Dan while building our house. Not only did he do the groundwork for the home but he helped clear and develop the land where our horses would reside. He was always super helpful and extremely understanding and kind even when our four year old son caused mischief on his tractor. Over the years, Dan and Lisa Post have become two of our closest friends and we support one another in our daily lives.
Read MoreFrom a poor and dangerous community, they saw me grow up in streets full of dust, as the Bible says, dust we are and dust we will return, but in that neighborhood the young people daily have to resist being part of gangs.

Read MoreThe every day reality for many Hondurans is difficult to grasp for many who have not experienced the poverty for themselves. It’s often easy to become lost in the frenzy that COVID-19 has created, and to forget to consider those who no longer have shelter to come home to.
Read MoreHappy Wednesday and another opportunity to highlight one of our local business heroes: New England Institute for Marriage and Family Therapy (NEIMFT). Their founder, Evan Sorensen is not only our largest donor but also our biggest supporter, H4H’s Vice President, my husband, the father to our two children, Hannah and Elijah and my best friend. We couldn’t possibly even exist without his help and partnership and with every fiber of my being I couldn’t be more grateful for our marriage in business and in life.
Read MoreI don’t know about you, but I’m the type of person who needs to see both sides of any situation before truly believing I’m doing the right thing. This statement will make more sense as we get deeper into today’s thoughts, it might become a little word-vomity.
Read MoreThere are those along our journey as an organization who have continually and selflessly given us support. So, in the upcoming weeks, I want to take an opportunity to highlight a few businesses who have shared their resources to help the people we serve in Honduras.
Read MoreTo me, human connection is the most gratifying part of being alive. A saying that I’m sure you’ve heard a version of drives this home for me… “People don’t remember what you were wearing, what you were driving, or even what you may have said to them, but people will always remember how you made them feel.”
Read MoreA Deeper Look into the Development of an Orphan
The media has trained us to see orphaned children in a particularly dim and ominous light; sad and destined for struggle; for hardship. Is this far from reality? I believe this is a question left in the hands of those who are in the position to mentor, raise or provide institution for any child.
Read MoreI believe the desire to help others is innate. There are so many examples of programs, organizations, communities, and even careers based on the principle of servicing other human beings. The side of this idea of “help” that doesn’t see the spotlight too often is the definition of what it means to help a population in need. Although our hearts are in the right place, and our desire to be of service is present, our actions may have an opposing effect.
Read MoreI don’t know about you, but when my life feels stagnant for any amount of time I get that itch to travel. How lucky are we that we get to travel for a great cause? We would be so completely honored to be able to bring volunteers with us when we travel to San Pedro Sula to do what we love most: mentor and help to lead children to success. How ready are you to travel to Central America? If that question feels substantial, don’t worry … we have your back.
Read MoreMy first experience in Honduras is something I speak about often. I believe this to be the case because it was the very first time I had ever done something completely out of my comfort zone. I was 19 years old and had just finished my first year at Boston University, an experience in itself. My dream is to go to medical school and become a doctor, which is really what lead me to seek medical experience in an environment as raw a Tegucigalpa, though what I didn’t expect was the longing feeling to return once my plane touched down in Boston following the trip.
