H4H Roadtrip!

Heart4honduras celebrated Ivan’s 18th birthday and Alex’s baptism by taking them to the beach! With the help of friends and their generous family and permission from the boys’ hogares, we picked them both up and took to the road. It was a little over an hour drive to the Port of Cortes. The sky was scattered clouds and blue and the air was warm. We laughed, we sang, we sat, watched a professional woman’s volleyball tournament, took photos, played, but most of all just enjoyed the ocean air, the love from each other and God’s overarching blessings.

At night, we stayed with our friend’s family. They welcomed us with open arms and homemade baleadas that were to die for! We took an evening walk to the market for snacks, then returned for a night of playing guitar, enjoying family and being absolutely embraced with love.

Morning came too quickly with our early return to San Pedro… so we said our goodbyes and made our back to the city to drop off Ivan at Senderos and Alex at CREA.

As I sit here in the U.S., and write about this trip I only experienced remotely with them from +3000 miles away, my heart is filled with pure love and appreciation for this crazy God-called adventure!

What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who He is or what He’s up to.
